The Average Payment Plan can help reduce your high bills in summer and winter and make it easier to manage your monthly bill. The plan allows you to pay a monthly bill on the average cost of your most recent 12-month period. The amount due may vary slightly month to month but if you were signed up for Average Payment, your bill for this month would have only been Label and then every bill in the coming months would be close to that same amount. It’s not too late to sign up for your Label bill.

Electrify Your Future introduces high school-aged students to career opportunities in the electric utility industry. Through this program, Westar hosts students for a half-day to see craft demonstrations, tour energy centers and gain first-hand knowledge of craft positions.
Get into Energy is sponsored by the Center for Energy Workforce Development. The goal is to build awareness among students, teachers, guidance counselors and others about the fantastic career opportunities available in the energy industry.
Spark events inspire girls to dream big when they think about their future and bring girls together with STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) professionals in their work spaces.
We partner with post-secondary and higher education institutions throughout our territory and region to find the best and brightest for our internship opportunities. A short list of schools we partner with, includes: Kansas State University; The University of Kansas; Washburn University; Wichita State University; Emporia State University; Flint Hills Technical College; Pratt Community College; and Dodge City Community College.
Westar partners with Topeka USD 501, Wichita USD 259, Youth Entrepreneurs and the Boys and Girls Club to provide a two-week experience for area students to learn about Westar Energy and the electric utility industry. At the end of this intensive learning process, students present to our leadership team to showcase their knowledge, experiences and understanding of the industry.
Children do better in college and later in life if they can begin to prepare for their careers early. With encouragement and exposure to different fields of study they can begin that preparation as early as elementary school if they find an area of study that interests them.
