The Average Payment Plan can help reduce your high bills in summer and winter and make it easier to manage your monthly bill. The plan allows you to pay a monthly bill on the average cost of your most recent 12-month period. The amount due may vary slightly month to month but if you were signed up for Average Payment, your bill for this month would have only been Label and then every bill in the coming months would be close to that same amount. It’s not too late to sign up for your Label bill.

Topeka, Kan., Sept. 17, 2014 — Every day, more than 2,400 Kansans across the state are working safely in power plants, offices and in the field providing their communities with the electricity needed to power their homes and businesses. Today, these Westar Energy employees are being recognized for making safety a way of life.
Westar is being honored as one of EHS Today’s America’s Safest Companies Class of 2014. The 18 companies recognized by the publication ranged from small firms to multinational corporations, all with safety as a core value.
“The EHS award really resonates with me because its motto is ‘Safety Brings You Home,’ emphasizing that safety is about employees and their families, not numbers,” said Doug Sterbenz, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “We’ve created that future vision at Westar through the choices we make every day to do the right thing and help each other be safe. I am so proud to be associated with the Westar team for making the right safety choices the way of life at Westar.”
Employee involvement and a safety culture, driven by activities such as Westar’s safety tours, were among criteria EHS considered. Companies also were judged based on safety or environmental awards received, lower-than-average injury and illness rates and other key elements of their safety and health program.
EHS Today is a resource for safety, health and industrial hygiene professionals in the manufacturing, construction and service sectors, providing information about trends, management, regulatory news and other hot topics to help provide safe and healthy work sites.
