The Average Payment Plan can help reduce your high bills in summer and winter and make it easier to manage your monthly bill. The plan allows you to pay a monthly bill on the average cost of your most recent 12-month period. The amount due may vary slightly month to month but if you were signed up for Average Payment, your bill for this month would have only been Label and then every bill in the coming months would be close to that same amount. It’s not too late to sign up for your Label bill.

Stay connected, stay informed. Westar offers outage text messaging and billing alerts to customers who want to receive information about their account or outage status on their mobile device. There are two types of alerts that customers can sign up to receive: outage-related and bill-related. The customer must have an online account and current cell phone number on file in order to participate.
You can sign up for texts by sending the short code REG to 97827. This will register you for text messages. Once registered, you will receive information for future outages as well. If your power goes out, or if you want to check the status of your outage, you can text the following commands to Westar at 97827.
If you are logged into your online Westar Energy account, you will simply need to visit the "Communication Preferences" section found under "My Profile."
