The Average Payment Plan can help reduce your high bills in summer and winter and make it easier to manage your monthly bill. The plan allows you to pay a monthly bill on the average cost of your most recent 12-month period. The amount due may vary slightly month to month but if you were signed up for Average Payment, your bill for this month would have only been Label and then every bill in the coming months would be close to that same amount. It’s not too late to sign up for your Label bill.
For more information about the Average Pay Program and how it can help reduce high bill surprises, visit our Average Payment Plan page
Are you a current high school student? Are you interested in learning about careers in the energy industry? If you answered YES to both of these questions, our Electrify Your Future experience might be just for you!
YOU are the future of our company and the future that your friends and family will rely upon for their daily living needs – electricity! To help prepare you for your career, whether it is with Westar or another company, we want to provide you the opportunity to experience “a day in the life” of our various careers while you are in high school.
Westar Energy is partnering with area high schools in Topeka, Wichita, Emporia, Shawnee and other communities in our territory to give you “hands-on” job shadowing experience to help you determine your future.
Our goal is to GUIDE you in learning about career options:
Electrify Your Future Tours – Field, Power Plant, & Corporate:These educational tours for high school students will be onsite at Westar Energy facilities and could incorporate all three of our aspects of Westar Energy. All schools will have Field Tours available and a presentation on the other two will be included if the other two are unavailable. Explore our EYF tours.
Electrify Your Future Job Shadow – Field, Power Plant, & Corporate: Students who have attended an EYF Tour may be interested in a chance to do a job shadow, a targeted in-depth shadow for craft and corporate positions. The shadowing will require 12 hours scatter per work group with a maximum of 40 hours. Students must attend EYF to be eligible. They are contacted by Westar Energy representatives, through the school counselor, to determine interest and to arrange for a EYF Job Shadow interview. Once interviews are conducted, students that are selected will be notified.
For more information about Job Shadowing and to apply to shadow, go to our EYF job shadowing page.
