The Average Payment Plan can help reduce your high bills in summer and winter and make it easier to manage your monthly bill. The plan allows you to pay a monthly bill on the average cost of your most recent 12-month period. The amount due may vary slightly month to month but if you were signed up for Average Payment, your bill for this month would have only been Label and then every bill in the coming months would be close to that same amount. It’s not too late to sign up for your Label bill.

Wichita, Kan., Dec. 16, 2016 – Westar Energy employees and community leaders celebrated the start of construction on a new service building at Webb Business Park in Wichita. The service center will be the hub for field operations, including line crews who maintain and repair the power grid that serves the Wichita metro area.
“Our new Wichita Service Center will be designed to provide the safe, reliable service our customers expect. When storms take out power lines, we will be able to mobilize more efficiently with the needed materials right here on site,” said Bruce Akin, senior vice president, power delivery.
“Our Chamber is getting ready to celebrate 100 years in 2017. I want to thank Westar for their support of our centennial,” said Gary Plummer, Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce president and CEO. “Westar has a strong record of community giving and is an excellent business partner.”
The 19 acre site will include storage of power poles and other materials needed to maintain the power grid. In addition, the building design incorporates pull-through truck bays designed for efficient loading. Construction will be complete in early 2018.
