The Average Payment Plan can help reduce your high bills in summer and winter and make it easier to manage your monthly bill. The plan allows you to pay a monthly bill on the average cost of your most recent 12-month period. The amount due may vary slightly month to month but if you were signed up for Average Payment, your bill for this month would have only been Label and then every bill in the coming months would be close to that same amount. It’s not too late to sign up for your Label bill.

Topeka, Kan., Sept. 9, 2015 – Fifth grade Grace E. Stewart Elementary science students will join school leaders as Westar Energy presents a sign recognizing the school for its solar energy project.
The school is one of 17 organizations awarded funding by Westar to add a solar array to its building. The school was selected for its plan to integrate renewable energy into the curriculum.
“We applaud the teachers and administrators at Grace E. Stewart Elementary for being committed to helping students learn about their electric energy, how renewable energy systems work and how they integrate with the power grid,” said Ben Postlethwait, manager, biology conservation & sustainability programs.
The sign will be presented to the school on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 1:45 p.m. at Grace E. Stewart Elementary School, 2123 Roach St., Salina. The presentation will take place in the school’s front entryway. The solar array is not visible from the road, but may be accessed for photos and/or video by climbing a short ladder.
The 10 kilowatt array is already producing electricity. For comparison, homeowners who chose to meet part of their electricity needs with solar usually install a 4-5 kW system.
