Topeka, Kan., Aug. 13, 2015 – Larry Graves, who has been director of Tecumseh Energy Center for the past three years, will join Westar Energy’s labor relations team in human resources. Geoff Greene, superintendent of plant maintenance at Jeffrey Energy Center, will replace Graves as director, Tecumseh Energy Center.
Graves joined Westar in 2007 as manager of the newly built Emporia Energy Center. He was promoted to director of Tecumseh Energy Center in February of 2012. A native of Montana, Graves served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Siemens and Cogentrix before joining Westar Energy. He earned a sociology/psychology degree from the University of Montana.
Since 2008, Greene has held a variety of positions at Jeffrey Energy Center, near St. Marys. He joined Westar as an engineer and advanced into management positions at the power plant. Greene, who grew up in Lenexa, also served in the Navy before joining Westar. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Kansas State University and a master of engineering management degree from Old Dominion University, in Virginia.
