Youth Hunts

Westar's Green Team volunteers conduct guided hunts at Jeffrey Energy Center for youth that never harvested a turkey, dove or deer. Emphasis is on safety and having a good learning experience. The hunts are held in early April for spring turkeys, September for doves, and the December and January rifle seasons for deer. Hunters must apply and be accepted in order to participate. Those with experienced mentors are encouraged to pursue hunting opportunities on their own to leave the limited Jeffrey hunt spaces for novice youth and their adult mentors.

For more information on participating in youth hunts, contact Brad Loveless, by E-mail or call him at (785) 575-8115.

Green Team Events are open to Westar Energy employees, retirees and their spouses. The public is also encouraged to roll up its sleeves and work with Westar Energy volunteers to make Kansas a better place for all of us.
